Geographical position: Croatia located in the heart of Europe on the beautiful Adriatic coast bordering Italy, Slovenia and Hungary. Croatia,the country of more than 1,185 islands, islets and reefs, including 67 uninhabited, extends from the foothills of the Julian Alps in the north-west and the Pannonian Plain in the east, over the Dinara mountain range in its central region, to the Adriatic coast in the south.

Climate in Croatia: Northern Croatia has a continental climate; Central Croatia has a semi-highland and highland climate, while the Croatian coast has a Mediterranean climate. Winter temperatures range from -1 to 30°C in the continental region, -5 to 0°C in the mountain region and 5 to 10°C in the coastal region. Summer temperatures range from 22 to 26°C in the continental region, 15 to 20°C in the mountain region and 26 to 30°C in the coastal region.

The Al Habtoor Leighton Group, through the Dubai division of Al Habtoor Engineering, has been awarded an AED 740 million contract for the construction of Olgana and Hilliana Towers in Dubai for Abyaar Real Estate Development.
The project forms part of Abyaar’s prestigious Acacia Avenues development in Jumeirah. It comprises two hi-rise residential towers – Olgana and Hilliana.
Olgana Tower comprises two levels of basement car parking, three podium levels and 36 levels of residential apartments. It includes:
• 30 one-bedroom apartments
• 61 two-bedroom apartments
• 28 three-bedroom apartments
• 14 four-bedroom townhouses
• An exclusive four-bedroom penthouse suite
• Communal pools, health club, spa, squash courts
• Children’s play areas
• Cafes and shops
Hilliana Tower consists of three basement and three podium levels of basement parking, and 40 levels of residential apartments. It comprises:
• Six floors of five-star Angsana serviced apartments
• 36 studio apartments
• 30 one-bedroom apartments
• 69 two-bedroom apartments
• Nine three-bedroom apartments
• Nine four-bedroom apartments
• Four levels of penthouse suites
Work on the project will commence in July, with construction expected to be completed by July 2010.

The tourism industry appears to be slipping for the first time in recent years, slowed by a potent cocktail of rising airfares and falling economic fortunes. And the slide is likely to intensify this fall as airlines slash their flight schedules.
Downtown Chicago hotel occupancy rates dipped to 65.2 percent during the first five months of this year, from 67.4 percent in the year-earlier period—the first erosion of strength in such a time frame since 2004, according to data from Smith Travel Research.
Nationwide, hotel occupancy dropped to 66.7 percent for those months, down from 68 percent in the year-ago period.

The National Business Travel Association Government Travel Group presented the first-ever National Travel Forum Icon Award to Becky Rhodes, deputy associate administrator; Office of Travel, Transportation and Asset Management; U.S. General Services Administration.
